About me

My name is Ottmar Bender.

After my graduation in mathematics, I started my career of 40 years with AEG-Telefunken, EADS, and Airbus in the fields of defence electronics and aerospace, covering various technical roles and management functions, which included these tasks and responsibilities:

Operational/Mission Analysis: Application of Architecture Frameworks
Model-based Systems Engineering: Definition, introduction, deployment, training and coaching of MBSE processes, methods, and tools
Software Engineering: Development of safety critical software up to Design Assurance Level A (DAL A)
BMBF research projects: SPES 2020, SPES-XT and ARAMIS

Motivation

Working for EADS and Airbus I gained over 20 years of experience in software engineering using UML and in MBSE with SysML for the development of complex software driven systems. During this time I have seen the power of the modelling languages UML and SysML. Therefore it is my passion to share this knowledge and support others to achieve software and system development successfully. Over 1500 engineers, project leaders, and domain experts participated in my trainings, with very positive feedbacks. The success of consultancy of organisations, training and coaching of teams, and my conviction that MBSE using SysML improves system development significantly is my strong motivation to share my knowledge as trainer.
